About the Hypnotist

LINDA JENCSON is originally from Cleveland, Ohio. Her life has been a quest for the perfect blend of art and science, truth and beauty. Oh, that sounds so formal! It’s awkward writing about oneself. Let me speak in the first person. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art, and both a Master’s and Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology—the study of humankind—from the University of Oregon. Anthropology allowed me to study trance and alternative healing practices in a wide variety of cultures, particularly Native American cultures. I have taught anthropology in Oregon, Minnesota, and North Carolina. I have been formally trained in hypnosis by Sarah Gewanter, at the Counseling Center in Leicester, NC, outside of Asheville. I have personally benefited from the hypnosis/trance practices of a variety of practitioners from Oregon to North Carolina, so that I know hypnosis from both sides, that of hypnotist, and that of client. It makes my own practice so much richer, so much deeper. I am a member in good standing of the National Guild of Hypnotists. It is they who have issued my Certification.
